Gayathri Subramanian

Subramanian, born and brought up in Chennai, is a computer science engineer. She then later pursued her distance education for a post graduate program in MS. She worked as an professional for over 14 years before calling it quits. Gayathri says, “l always had a passion for food and becoming my own boss.” Henceforth she started the second innings of her life with a new goal of being a pastry chef. She started trekking towards a diploma in International Baking and Patisserie awarded by City & Guilds. During Which she started her venture “Baked with Love”.

After overcoming certain challenges brought about by the present pandemic, Gayathri started her course with Fondbites on a high gear. A late Start didn’t shake up her goals and learning process. She came in focused and driven to excel at every lesson and produce some gorgeous cakes from the get go. Pushing herself every now and then by taking up challenging and detailed projects. From pointillism to palette knife, her work has spoken volumes about her patience and passion in what she is doing. Surpassing the beginner level, Gayathri is surety one of the best of her batch and a dream student for her mentors.

While I was pursuing my diploma, luckily chanced upon attending a class all about wedding cakes with Ms Subhashini and was spellbound by her way of teaching, the Santa that she had created and the massive V’ajra. And then with a little internet digging came to know about the master class for decoration conducted by Ms-Subhashini of Fondbites. Being a beginner, needed guidance and a reliable source of knowledge to learn from. With no second thoughts, I enrolled in the FODMC program. This journey has been so fruitful to date. The techniques, the details and handholding are par excellence. It has encouraged me to attempt decorating cakes that was only able to dream off until now. The course and especially Ms. Subhashini has helped me to identify my own strengths and taught me how to make the most out of them. My style which I have narrowed down to, is to create minimalistic yet elegant cakes. Using local and seasonal flavours, homemade fillings whenever possible and to fully enjoy the process of baking and decorating from start to finish.
